PR Pros: Kelley Weaver Of Melrose PR On The Three Things You Need To Create A Highly Successful Career As A Public Relations Pro

Have an open mind because things in this space are always changing. I think one of the biggest reasons Melrose PR has been successful is that we have kept an open mind and have been willing to go with the flow.

The second is curiosity. One of the reasons for the podcast’s success is the fact that I genuinely enjoy conversations with people and am always curious about what other people are up to.

The third would be having thick skin because being a business owner requires you to roll with the punches.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Kelley Weaver, CEO of Melrose PR and host of Crypto Token Talk podcast.

Thank you so much for doing this with us Kelley! What is your “backstory”?

I am a young female entrepreneur and founder of Melrose PR, a leading crypto and blockchain communications agency based in Los Angeles, California. I have been featured and quoted by publications such as the LA Times, Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine, Inc, LA Business Journal, Young Entrepreneur, Business Rockstars, and many more.

I am a die-hard blockchain and cryptocurrency believer. Just two years ago, I dove head-first into the world of blockchain technology and haven’t looked back since. I am deeply passionate about communicating how decentralized technology will change the world.

I routinely write thought leadership pieces about blockchain, including articles published in Forbes and The Huffington Post. I am also the host of Crypto Token Talk, a podcast for those looking to enter the new frontier of blockchain technology and learn “Crypto 101” from leading industry experts.

Previously, I led my other company, pursecase, to a successful exit in early 2017. Pursecase is a popular fashion tech accessory that I invented in October of 2012 and for which I was featured Shark Tank, ABC’s hit show I walked out of the Shark Tank with an investment deal with Lori Greiner. Pursecase has also appeared on QVC, The View, Extra! etc. and distributed through channels worldwide, including Hallmark, Paper Source, Kitson, and Staples. From inception to the time I sold the company, Pursecase generated over 3 million in retail sales.

Can you tell me about the most interesting projects you are working on now?

What are the 5 things that most excited you about crypto? Why?

What are the 5 things worry you about crypto? Why?

The sheer volume of rampant scams, negatives overshadowing the positives, ferrets, headlines according to price, and attaching the term “decentralized” to currencies that are very centralized.

What 3 things would you advise to someone who wanted to emulate your career? Can you share an example for each idea?

Some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch with, and why? He or she might just see this.

I would love to have breakfast with Nathaniel Popper because he is an amazing reporter in the space and I really admire his book, Digital Gold, which I always recommend to everyone.
