Break rules. No one who does the extraordinary, the above and beyond, plays the game by the rules. They break them and shape them to their advantage.

As a part of our series about stars who are making an important social impact, I had the pleasure of interviewing Lashon Byrd.

Lashon Byrd is a modern day Polymath who first rose to prominence early 2023 making appearances on major media such as the international business news a year and a half after the release of his debut novella “Dy-nami.” Lashon’s name has been steadily on the rise among public discourse as he continues to show the world what he has to offer, in this interview we explore insights from the man himself.

Thank you so much for joining us on this interview series. Can you share with us the backstory that led you to this career path?

It all started when I had the dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I had my eyes set on that goal and would do anything to attain it. Robert also inspired me to become an author, therefore at that young age, I worked towards both of those goals simultaneously. At the age of 11, I started writing my first book, at the age of 12 I started to build my first businesses, until I discovered I was multi-talented & had multiple passions. And started pursuing acting at the age of 13. All my passions and natural talents were solidified at 14. At the age of 15, I established my life’s purpose- which was to advance human culture, technology, and knowledge.

It has been said that our mistakes can be our greatest teachers. Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

When I got my start in acting, I fell for 3 scams in a row, each promising to get me signed to an agent. I learned that the entertainment industry is chock full of scammers that prey on brand new and unsuspecting entertainers yearning to get their foot in the door.

What would you advise a young person who wants to emulate your success?

Break rules. No one who does the extraordinary, the above and beyond, plays the game by the rules. They break them and shape them to their advantage.

Is there a person that made a profound impact on your life? Can you share a story?

Undoubtedly Robert Kiyosaki, if I hadn’t discovered his work, god knows where I’d be in life presently.

How are you using your success to bring goodness to the world? Can you share with us the meaningful or exciting causes you’re working on right now?

I donate as many financial resources as I can to the best causes I can find on the financial side. I write articles on major media platforms that are relatable, real, and inspirational. Through my scientific work I expand the spectrum of humanities’ knowledge. And overall use my platform to inspire change and authenticity.

Can you share with us a story behind why you chose to take up this particular cause?

My upbringing was marked by a cultivation & honing of my skills, talents, and discovery.

Can you share with us a story about a person who was impacted by your cause?

My great grandmother, Diane Star Morrison. Without her magnificent presence and love in my life, in my upbringing, I wouldn’t be who I am today or have made the impact I’ve made today.

Are there three things or are there things that individuals, society, or the government can do to support you in this effort?

They can collectively weed out fraudulent or deceptive charities, allow researchers easier & more efficient access to funds for research, & adopt a more open-minded, and less narrowly targeted media sites.

What are your “5 things I wish someone told me when I first started”

Break rules, get accustomed to hate it’s a good thing, beware of scammers, don’t be afraid to ask for help especially in business, & don’t get caught up in the psyche of having a “backup plan.” Chase your dreams single-handedly, you can’t fail unless you give up.

You’re a person of enormous influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger.

I’d start a movement called the “Rule breakers” initiative, which inspires and motivates others to achieve the seemingly impossible and extremely difficult because they’d have no choice but the break rules and go against the grain.

Can you please give us your favorite life lesson quote? And can you explain how that was relevant in your life?

“No man is more unhappy than he who never faces adversity. For he is not permitted to prove himself.” — Seneca

We are blessed that some very prominent names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US with whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch, and why? He or she might just see this if we tag them.

The Kid LAROI 😊

Thank you so much for these amazing insights. This was so inspiring, and we wish you continued success!
